Who We Are
Local residents united since 2003 to keep Pyrmont greener, safer and more connected.
Background
Pyrmont Action began in July 2003 when more than forty new residents convened after a City of Sydney forum to campaign for better broadband and other redevelopment issues. A steering committee drafted our constitution—endorsed at the inaugural meeting—and on 29 November 2005 we incorporated under the NSW Associations Incorporation Act to keep local voices front-and-centre as Pyrmont evolved from working waterfront to a dynamic inner-city neighbourhood.
Our Objectives
- Foster cooperation between community, Council and State agencies
- Enhance Pyrmont’s physical, social & economic environment
- Provide a vehicle for resolving community issues
- Promote community cohesion
