Great green spaces… we must fight to keep them

Heading: Great green spaces… we must fight to keep them
Copy: Pyrmont boasts 20 green spaces, reserves and parks. Many interface with the waterfront and provide an array of amenities. This includes exercise spaces, water parks, BBQ facilities, etc. However, green spaces - new or the existing are not guaranteed!

Several government plans foreshadow the need for more of the existing green space in Pyrmont to be “activated”. This means turning park lands and grounds into commercial spaces for hire. Pyrmont is known for its high residential density, which is significantly higher compared to other local government areas. Green spaces: retaining and adding them are essential to making Pyrmont the great place it is to live, work and play.

Pyrmont action is working to ensure green spaces are designed and developed in unison with new developments, and that recreation facilities and sports areas are also added to accommodate the expected uplift of 8,000 people set to move into Pyrmont over the coming years. And critically we aim to protect our waterfront areas and access.

How to get involved: Join Pyrmont Action in keeping Pyrmont green and open.
