Schools and Education

Pyrmont is one of the oldest and densest suburbs in Sydney and was once home to one of the first public schools in the city. Yet over the years schools have been closed in the area.

Over the next few years major residential developments are planned with thousands of new residents to call Pyrmont home.

Pyrmont Action is working to ensure that new families have the option to have their children attend a Pyrmont located Primary School and have better quality educational offerings from nearby secondary schools located in Balmain and Blackwattle Bay.

Increased density across Pyrmont needs to be matched with infrastructure and services that accommodate the changing demographics of the area. Pyrmont wants to welcome more families but without better schools, childcare, and child support services this will not be possible.

Education and infrastructure investment must match residential plans for Pyrmont.
